is a local beekeeper serving the Greater
Victoria area on the southern end
of Vancouver Island, BC Canada. He is an accredited Bee Master and BCHPA certified instructor
of Beginner's Beekeeping. He has been
keeping bees for more than 10 years. Apitherapy is the use of honey bee, genus Apis, products as a therapy for humans. Bee Venom Therapy is the application of the honey bee's venom to the human body. The active ingredient in honey bee venom is melittin. Melittin can be 50% measured by dry weight. The quality and quanity of melittin within the stinger is dependant on the health and age of the female worker honey bee as well as the subspecies. Just any old bee will not provide optimal results. At Barry's Bees we have developed a nutrition and management protocol that provides a preferred product. For more information, please contact me by email. Bees are NOT available for BVT
Unfortunately my honey bee insurance no longer covers supplying bees for the purpose of Apitherapy. I would suggest you find a local ND, Naturopathic Doctor, for apitherapy support. Honey contains traces of pollen. Consumption of local honey on a regular basis will give your body an opportunity to become tolerant to these local pollens, thereby reducing your allergy symptoms. It usually takes 1 tablespoon per day for 2-3 months for the effect to be noticeable, |
